Tenor Wright Moore has performed with opera companies in the United States and Europe including the Salzburg Festival, Lucerne Theater, Braunschweig State Theater, Vienna Kammeroper, Dallas Opera, Washington Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Glimmerglass Opera, and the Opera Orchestra of New York. His last opera engagement was with the Salzburg Festival in "Die Liebe der Danae" during the 2002 season. Wright retired from his career in opera thereafter, choosing to instead focus on his development and pursuits as an oil painter. (See www.wrightmoore.net). Although he now focuses his creative energies on painting, he is a part time "ringer" around New York City and gives recitals in the New York area, having most recently performed a program of German Lieder on the Midtown Concerts series, accompanied by Gwen Toth.
Wright received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College in 1988. After Amherst, Wright studied voice with the late Edward Zambara at the New England Conservatory of Music and received a Masters in Vocal Performance in 1993. He then pursued further vocal training in New York City with voice teacher Bill Reilly.
